Jirayr H. Zorthian b. 1911, d. 2004. Armenian American artist who as a boy fled the Armenian genocide during WWI...first to Italy and then to the United states. After grad school, a full time depression era artist. US Army intelligence in WWII. Continued to be an active artist up until his death...almost as well known for his bohemian lifestyle as his art.
