SPAM on these boards

Now I see we have a Christian dating group. Nothing against, Christians, but I'll bet the intersection between devout Christians and black worshippers is fairly limited.

I had seen a couple of spam threads and reported them to the mod, but then I began to see that there were many of them. If everyone were reporting them to the mod, it is likely that the mod would be inundated with and have to sift through redundant spam reports. So I figure that is not the best solution. If the Admin can and would delegate spam deletion to one or maybe two regularly-visiting members, that seems like a workable strategy. I'm in favor of nominating/suggesting/recommending Zagg to the position as he is a regularly-visiting, fair-minded, and trustworthy member.

Bad enough they were starting their own topics, now they're invading all the existing ones as well.
If the site owner or mods don't fix this now, it's time to abandon ship.

I'm afraid you're right, will. There seems to be no effort on the part of the admin to control or delete the stuff. I'm even wondering whether it's in fact paid advertising. I'd hate to lose NW yet again, but if this keeps up, it won't be worth preserving.

I can't see it being paid advertising because most of it is foreign and not many of us would be interested in dealing with it, especially as it isn't even of the same genre of porn.
I also think that if the admin here was around something would have been done to stop it or to tell us to shut up. So far admin has been totally MIA.

If admin didn't want to be bothered, they should have asked if any of the regulars wanted to oversee the site with limited access, just enough to control shit like this.

So, I guess NW will be slippin' into darkness once again in the near future. Too bad!

Strange thing is you'd think whoever is paying for the site to exist would at least come around once in a while to see what's up with it.

He comes around once in awhile. He used to clean out the spam when he did. But now he just lets it accumulate until you can't separate the real posts from the junk.

Well pretty soon it will be real easy to separate because there won't be any real posts, only spam.

I don't want to assume the worst, maybe the admin is busy with more serious stuff in life. It does look like spam is an easy way to drive up ad revenue. All those new users, and posts makes the site look way busier than it really is.
 
It sure does make the traffic look better than it had been.

Yep, it's coming off tonight. Also blocking them. I'm NOT going back 2-3 weeks to wipe them out, but there won't be any current stuff left.
